Historian and Cemetery Advocate based in North Carolina. For the past 16 years, I’ve been wandering the lesser-known routes of the South, capturing the history that I found disappearing along the way for my project, The Forgotten South.

In 2026, I launched the 250 Graves project in honor of America’s 250th Anniversary and created this dedicated website to share all of the stories from the American Revolution I’m finding along the way as I travel to 250 Patriot graves.

This project began in January 2026 in honor of America’s 250th Anniversary. I wanted to visit the graves of 250 people who shaped the American Revolution and share them with you. I started in the South, working to highlight the contribubtions of Southerners in the fight for independence, which is often overlooked.
